Let's go!

Earth’s Cry is a strategy game. It’s an almagation of so much of my ideas over the past 5 years? Maybe more… A game that’s taking shape in ways I could not have predicted. It’s not unrecognisable from what I envisioned in the past, but it’s definitely growing into itself.

It’s a process that I am learning to accept and embrace. The reason that i’ve been working so long on this game is that every time I set out to build my vision I get lost and return home disappointed. I wouldn’t know how to proceed. I got frustrated. Gave up.

I just couldn’t find the path leading to whatever I told myself this game needed to be. While I did learn from all those attempts, I also got a little hurt by each failure. It gave me doubts about my ability to even create a game.

Still, the urge to work on this vision I kept having was just too strong, so it’s only during this latest attempt that I’m now feeling confident enough to start this blog and share my progress with the worldwide web.

And why do I feel confident about this attempt after already failing so many times to push through?

I hope to uncover that while sharing more of my progress on this blog. But my hunch as of now is that this time I’m holding strongly on to two things: concrete deadlines and sharing milestones.

And with this blog I’m now expanding the accountability that arises from these two to the web-at-large.
